RW24 with Bublr Bikes in 2026
I am finally getting around to posting because I’m still recovering from the RW24. I had a blast making buttons, seeing good friends, celebrating biking, and community. There were several nights of getting 6 hours of sleep last week and I am still feeling the impact #thirties. It’s funny because I was convinced I had infinite energy to last me a lifetime of karaokeing, biking, and button making. Alas, my body has limitations that force me to take it easy this week. Therefore I am writing about my adventures with Eleni from Bublr Bikes, at the RW24.
It all started with a karaoke machine and a guilty purchase from Amazon. I know, you must be thinking…you shopped at Amazon?! I’m sorry, please forgive me. I’m doing my best. It had to be done because I am not the best at thinking ahead.
Mic Check
It’s always a good idea to have the passenger lead karaoke while driving
After making sure the machine was charged and ready to go, I biked towards Riverwest before the event last Friday. Suddenly as I’m headed West on Locust, I hear someone shout “Yeah Bikes!” My heart melted. I died and came back to life. For at least a year, I’ve been shouting “Yeah Bikes!” at people, and, finally, someone yells “Yeah Bikes!” at me unprompted. It was a good sign.
Then Eleni and I toured the food tent outside the late Riverwest Co-op (RIP). As we looked for a place to set up our mics, we talked with neighbors and friends and chose a spot to perch. I turned on the machine by the line of people waiting for food. Because, why wait in line and talk to your friends, when you can do karaoke? Eleni and I opened with Lean on Me, which was a true crowd pleaser.
Our first participant
Tim from Black Husky
We got several contestants during the meal time. When I yelled into the mic, “Anyone want to do karaoke for a raffle ticket for Yeah Bikes! And Bublr merch?” Most people ignored me. Fortunately there were a few eager volunteers shouting with glee to participate. It was truly magical.

Now we return to the countdown to RW24 in 2027. Until then I will be focusing on producing music to release, recruiting a guitar player, and booking more shows. Speaking of which, get pumped for September 12 because I will be performing at the Bublr Bash fundraiser!
I am so excited to be part of this free community event that will gather people to celebrate and fundraise for Bublr’s mission: to provide a sustainable and excellent bikeshare system to Greater Milwaukee. Everyone is invited for an afternoon of live music, shop tours, Bublr contests, and a prize raffle at 811 E. Vienna Ave from 1:00-6:00 PM on Saturday, September 12th! We hope to see you there!
